I am currently remodeling a room in my house. I have a vision for the room. It will have certain colors, certain items, and will serve a very specific purpose. I know what I want, and I am moving forward with my plans. I pride myself on being very stubborn. I get a vision in my mind of where I want to go, and I go there. It works every time. Seems pretty simple, doesn't it?

But, so many times in peoples lives, they have a vision and allow it to be altered or erased by all those "helpful people" in their lives. Do you have any "helpful people" in your life? People who want to "protect" you from making a "mistake." They say things such as:

"Now is not the best time."

"You can't do that."

"I know someone who tried that and it didn't work."

In my life, these are the people who will visit, see what I'm working on, and suggest something that is completely outside of my vision. It is in that very moment that I use the tools I have trained my mind to have. The hypnotic techniques that I have firmly installed in my mind through using my own hypnosis CDs. The "helpful" suggestions made by friends make sense, but they are not in line with my vision. These friends mean me only good, but their words threaten the very creation of my vision. What if I were to agree with them? What if I made that room into something less expensive? I'd save money, right? Sure, but I'd compromise my vision. What if I added a wall here rather than there. Makes sense, but it is not in line with my vision.

Are you swayed by peoples ideas of how you should run YOUR life? Did you have a vision at one time and allow it to be changed by "helpful" people? The interesting thing about all this is that it is not them, it's YOU. You are ALLOWING their ideas into your mind. And, just as easily, you can keep those ideas out by strengthening your mind. Let's face it, those little comments people make can act as time bombs...destroying our vision at a later time. How can we disarm them?
